Many Michigan State University students and professors do not believe that there is a difference between President Obama and Governor Romney in amount or size of financial aid awards that they would offer to college students if elected to president. They believe that the two candidates for the office of president of the United States of America have similar policy ideas in regards to student financial aid, and would not have drastically different plans to change who get aid and how much aid each student would get.
Professor Eric Juenke of the Department of Political Science at Michigan State University said that he did not see a difference between to two choices in terms of student financial aid.
“They both seem about the same in that aspect. I believe that they neither of them would decrease the amount of federal aid given to students,” Juenke said.
Jeff Sheperd, a graduate student in the Veterinary Medical School at MSU, believes that Obama will help out students more financially because he has in the past.
“President Obama gave more aid to students during his first term as president, and I believe that he will if he wins reelection.”
Many people feel that it is the House of Representatives that will have control over student financial aid, no matter who is election as president in the upcoming election.

Professor Jeff Conroy-Kurtz of the Department of Political Science at Michigan State University said Congress will have more control than the president in the long run.
“These decisions would be made by Congress more so than Presidents,” Conroy-Kurtz said.
John Chase, an undergraduate student at Michigan State University, agreed with Conroy-Kurtz.
“Yeah, I think Congress will control it,” he said in regards to whether the House of Representatives will control student financial aid more than the president.
Many professors and students at Michigan State University believe financial aid will not change because who is president, but because of what happens in Congress. In regards to funding college bills for students, most MSU students and professors think both candidates appear to have similar views.
